Reading Between the Lines

Yesterday's news was spinning all over the latest about scientists recreating a flu virus that mirrors the pandemic "outbreak of the Spanish flu virus in 1918 that killed millions" according to this news source.
Then in another article from this morning, it appears that President Bush is pressing "vaccine" manufacturers to get on with producing a vaccine to combat the bird flu that all the major news people are discussing and causing panic about. I won't go into my personal opinion about the companies arguing about "profitability".....or rather the lack of....as their reason for dragging their feet.....isn't that, um, kind of unethical?
Am I concerned? Of course. There is potential for a major, major outbreak of this virus and the possible loss of life is staggering (especially when the drug companies stand to make more money on the outbreak than preventing it). But I don't think it's the actual news coverage that is causing the greatest concern for me.
My cause for concern is what they are NOT telling us. Rule of thumb for me has always been where there's smoke, there's fire. With the government: if they are telling us something bad, then somewhere behind the scenes and between the lines ~ there's something really, really bad ~ Y'all, it must be a wildfire.
Oh, and by the way, there was this news report about a plane carrying vials of viruses that crashed. But there's no cause for concern.............
