For the Outdoor Lover

   Academy Sports + Outdoors tries to offer it all for the outdoor enthusiast.  From golf, clothing, and hunting, fishing, and camping gear, there's a little bit of everything there.  I don't golf, hunt, or fish, so I have no idea if they offer good deals or rip-offs; but there were several people taking advantage of sales on fishing gear.  There were also aisles of shoes, from team sports gear to running shoes and casual wear. 

   I was greeted with clearance racks of clothing and found several more scattered throughout the store.  As usual, the more expensive Nike and Under Armour workout clothes were up front, but there were less expensive brands further back.  The cheapest clothes were the Soffee brand shorts from $3.99 to $7.99.  These really short cotton shorts are very popular with the teenage girls.  Although I'm not familiar with the Austin Clothing co. line, their shorts and casual shirts seemed of good quality and with good prices. 

   There weren't that many staff on duty today, but those I saw seemed to be helping customers.  Sometimes I find in these mega stores that staff has had a couple days of training on the whole store, but they're not qualified on anything.  I didn't need help with pool toys or workout clothes, but I will check out the staff when I have to buy running shoes in a couple of weeks.
