We love our animals here on the farm. As of this date, we have 4 dogs, 10 cats, 25 chickens, a parakeet, tropical fish....and who knows what's around the corner waiting to take up residence! In order to be responsible pet owners, it takes the efforts of those like CSRA Life Savers to help family's like ours to be able to spay and neuter our pets without having to take out a small interest loan.
I am NOT being critical of veterinarians with such a statement. However, we all know the rising costs of animal services when you have more than one pet. CSRA Life Savers is committed to keeping these costs at a minimum in order to help pet owners prevent unwanted litters through their spay/neuter program. Thus reducing unnecessary euthanizing of unwanted dogs and cats.
Yesterday, the guys and I had 4 of our cats "fixed" and what a relief to know that our pets will be healthier and not out reproducing not only unwanted but potentially "feral litters" of cats throughout the countryside.
I think it is easily recognizeable that "out in the country" there is a mindset that pets don't necessarily need to be spayed and neutered. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our family not only "luv" our kitties, but we need all of our cats on our family farm to keep the vermin under control (.....keeping those slithering yetis away....). But because we love all ten of our felines, doesn't mean we need to be irresponsible and have them reproducing three-fold within a year (....and they would....!). Because of CSRA's affordable spay/neuter program, we were able to have all four surgically altered at once and have three more scheduled in a couple of weeks.

Thank you, CSRA Life Savers for your dedicated efforts.
Our family's thoughts and prayers continue to be with all those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
