The Great Weather Switch
The other day we bought a tuner. That is a little thingamagig you can put into your computer and thereby pick up television stations. There was a list of items ON the box that were supposed to be INSIDE the box. One of those was an installation CD. It wasn't in there. We took it back. The shop owner was very apologetic and gave us our money back.
Later on he got a different one with a CD. That one didn't work either. Again, he gave us a refund. He is a very reasonable man.
I have a friend who is very concerned about the fact that I don't have a television. He thinks I should know what is going on in my homeland. I think that is very nice of him. I tell him I read CNN.com to make him feel better.
I hate CNN.com. I figure that, if something important happens, someone will tell me about it later. If it's really important, like 911, it will be inescapable.
When I was getting ready to come to Romania, my friends and family were concerned because they know I am cold-natured. One friend gave me a hughnormous red coat with Dalmation trim. I wear it everywhere. It upsets the street dogs. It makes me perfectly comfortable, because we are having stereotypical Georgia weather here in Bucharest. I hear the U.S. is having stereotypical Romanian weather. I didn't hear about it on CNN. Someone who reads CNN.com told me.
My friend probably wants her coat back.
