Tomi Rae Hynie Brown performsPosted by Chronicle Newsroom on December 30, 2006 - 3:37 PM Tomi Rae Hynie Brown is now performing "Hold On, I'm Comin'" at the "homegoing celebration" for James Brown. She had been locked out of their Beech Island, S.C., home after Mr. Brown died on Christmas Day. Mr. Brown's attorneys have contended that she and Mr. Brown were not legally married at the time of his death. -- Jeremy Craig Submitted by LadyHarrietta on December 31, 2006 - 12:43 AM.
If she vow to love honor ans obey until death do you part.you are suppose to stay there even when illness strike. You can't pay me or any other black lady to leave their spouse when thet are ill. She really getting what she deserve. To me she was less then a woman and didn't do a wife part so why should his children respected her. Submitted by alee115 on December 31, 2006 - 5:23 PM.
If you watch or read the news, you would know Tomie Rae was away for medical treatment.James Brown had a dentist appointment, not open heart surgery. You think only black women have good marriages?I am white and I speak from 40 yrs of experience. My husband and I take care of each other. Submitted by tperkins1922 on December 31, 2006 - 6:01 PM.
If you saw her televised interview with cnn she stated she was simply on vacation because she was stressed....when he was first admitted to the hospital her place as the "so-called" wife should have been to get on the first thing smoking to be by his side. Funny how when word of his passing she breaks her neck to get into his house but didn't break a sweat to be at his bedside!!! Come on now think about it she has a house she occupied a few blocks down the street..you do the math. I don't blame his daughter's one bit she has no place other than for her 5 year old. If you asked me she has used his death for publicity. She just needs to clean the dirt from her fingernails and put away the shovel. Submitted by alee115 on December 31, 2006 - 7:54 PM.
Publicity? For God's sake she was married to the man. She breaks her neck to get in his house? It is her house too. You pass judgement on her because she is white. You know James Brown loved everyone no matter what color they were. All you hypocrites, including Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, can never be in the same class as James Brown. He loved God and all people.I hope his wife gets everything he left. Submitted by sculler517 on January 01, 2007 - 1:05 AM.
First of all he did not leave behind a WIFE. I am sure that you and others are hoping the for same thing. That is what it was all about from day one with her. I put nothing past Ms. Hynie. I hope she gets what she deserves. NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Submitted by Cpugar92101 on January 10, 2007 - 4:56 AM.
For crying out loud! Tomi Raye married James Brown. There maybe some technicalties on whether the 1st marriage was over. But she had a son by the man. And they were together since 2001. I am a Black man. My 1st wife was a pretty Black woman with 3 Black kids 4, 5 & one almost 7 when I married her. She had been a profressional singer with a great commercial voice(no records). Eleven months after we married we had our own son (who's 19 YO now). She was 10 years younger than me and didn't know how to behave and after 3 1/2 years we divorced. My 2nd wife was a White Southern Belle from Dallas,TX with 2 grown children in their early 30s. Not as pretty as the 1st wife but she was way pretty enough for me. Her kids & family also liked & respected me like there was NO DIFFERENCES. Don't put Tomi Raye down because she's White. JB & her loved each other. BTW, JB had been involved with other his young Black female up & coming singers back way back in the 60s & 70's. One was named Tami Montgomery who left the James Brown Show and went to Motown and became Tami Terrell who had some good singles of her own before teaming up with Marvin Gaye. While watching he CNN TV SHOW funeral I and my father really got PISSED OFF when Tomi Raye was looking at her ex husband in the casket some hecklers were shouting for her to "get off the stage". That's really NO CLASS. It reminded me of Correta King's funeral when REV what's his name Louwry(?) stared talking about poor people & the Iraq War while President Bubbya & Barbara Bush were in attendance there. As I recall when former Prez Clinton came up he said words to to effect "to put our differences aside". Prez Clinton had to put these low class chitlin eating Black folkes in there places. Corretta King's funeral is NO PLACE JB & Tomi Raye loved each other and she has his son. Be nice to her. She deserves something. Forget the fact that she's White. It doesn't matter!. So my brothers & sistas DON'T send me NO NASTYGRAMS about my being an UNCLE TOM or OREO COOKIE. I've heard it too many times before. It won't change the way I think. First off there was nothing wrong with her singing, isn't that how they met? She was one of his backup singers. Then because she's younger than him, she is suddenly a gold digger. The fact of the matter is, there is a young son involved, Brown who came from Poverty, wouldn't want his son locked out of the only home he knows on Christmas and then thrown back into poverty. As for them saying she had a house a block away, Alot of poeple own property before they are married, keep the property, and then rent it out. That house she owns, for all you know is not empty for her to simply move into, they may have been renting it out to someone. In fact she said she was having to stay with her mom. As for her being away when he died, Steve Irwins wife and kids were on vacation when he died, no one called his wife a gold digger when she returned after he died or locked her out of her home with him. No one was expecting James Brown to die, nor did she expect him to die, everyone thought he was having dental work and minor surgery. She or anyone shouldn't be locked out of their home on Christmas day, that's wrong, and it's not what Brown stood for. He was always known for helping people at the holidays. |
