The fear also rises

And keeps a plane on the ground.
From dailymail.co.uk
The trouble in Malaga flared last Wednesday as two British citizens in their 20s waited in the departure lounge to board the pre-dawn flight and were heard talking what passengers took to be Arabic. Worries spread after a female passenger said she had heard something that alarmed her.
Passengers noticed that, despite the heat, the pair were wearing leather jackets and thick jumpers and were regularly checking their watches.
Initially, six passengers refused to board the flight. On board the aircraft, word reached one family. To the astonishment of cabin crew, they stood up and walked off, followed quickly by others.
Mrs Schofield, 38, said: "The plane was not yet full and it became apparent that people were refusing to board. In the gate waiting area, people had been talking about these two, who looked really suspicious with their heavy clothing, scruffy, rough, appearance and long hair.
"There was no fuss or panic. People just calmly and quietly got off the plane. There were no racist taunts or any remarks directed at the men.
"While we were waiting, everyone agreed the men looked dodgy. Some passengers were very panicky and in tears. There was a lot of talking about terrorists."

Well, I’m afraid to walk in some Augusta neighborhoods at night.
Does that fear make me a racist?
Or do the real racists cause the fear?
I think the burden of proof in the plane incident falls on the Muslims.
The passenger’s fear was definitely proportionate to the danger posed by potential terrorists.
That may be sad and wrong, but these are sad and wrong times.
And it didn’t start in our house…

I believe in that same situation, I would have left the plane as well. After all it is better to be safe than sorry and from what was said these two would also arose my suspicion, espeacialy if they were wearing leather jackets and jump suits in the heat. A good example would be if a person were walking in one of our neighborhoods wearing a long trench coat and stocking hat and the temps were in the 90's. Now, one of two thinges, either this person was an escapee from the looney farm or they were hiding something under that trench coat with bad intentions in mind. I would most likely call the police to have it checked out and be sure that all is okay, thus it is better to be safe than sorry. Now just because I would report it, does not make me a racist, because I did not mention any particular race did I? To be cautious in these times in which we live, is better than having to pay a more abundant price further down the road. Just because people were getting off the plane, does not make them racist or classify them as profilers toward muslims, because I believe that not all muslims are terrorists. But because of a few fanaticals all Muslims must now suffer. It would help their cause a great deal if they would stand up and condem acts of terrorism, instead of being jubulant when an attack takes place, but then again if they did that then there would not be terrorism, because terror is what keeps most muslims under control. Example: Saddam and his thugs against their own citizens in Iraq, however it has been proven time an time again that when you get rid of one, another is ready to step in and make a name for their self. It's vicious and a totally new kind of warfare. On a lighter side all Patriotic Americans should arm them selves with a Barret 107 .50 cal rifle, and (I don't mean them fanatical skinhead home grown terrorists either),an awesome powerful piece of weapontry.

This is for imdstuf...

(in concurrence with FrozenOne) Well, I don't own a Barret 107.50, but I do own a 357 and I'm not afraid to use it if I have to.

Anyway, paranoia? Com'on, dude. Just read the newspaper...the one you are posting on.

Gimpel's analogy was right on. Assuming you are white (and even if you are black), would you go walking around Dunbarton Village, or down around East Boundary even in the daytime? I know I wouldn't. And it's not because I'm paranoid. It's because I have good sense.

These days Muslims pose just as much threat, only on a bigger scale. Walking in the aforementioned areas means only you are vulnerable. All non-muslims are vulnerable now. Wake up, man. It's not paranoia. It's being aware of what's going on around you at all times. The most subdued person could thwart something horrific just by being vigilant.

Personally, I do not believe that all Muslims are terrorists either. But let me pose a scenario for you: Suppose your child/spouse is sitting across a table from two Muslims. One of them is peaceful and wouldn't harm a hair on their head, and one of them is a fanatic and you know for a fact that the fanatic is about to kill your loved one. You only want to eliminate the "bad" one, but you have no idea which one is which. You have a weapon and could anialate either, or both. Let's leave the Muslim part out. Let's say it's black on white, or white on black...(but the Muslim part is where we're at right now). Your family member is 100% dead if you don't do anything at all. You have a 50/50 chance of being right if you choose only one and if you are wrong, your child/spouse is dead anyway.

The "bad" ones are taught from childhood to eliminate the infidel and to blend in with "normal" people so they can plan these terrible acts within OUR country so you can't say "I know this one and he would never hurt me or my family". These guys they just nabbed in London...their neighbors had no clue.

Anyway, what would you do?
