A gospel of hate?

Posted by gimpel on July 29, 2006 - 7:34 AM

Basically, the dialogue is this:
Hate Austin Rhodes.
Hate Augusta Chronicle.
Hate Austin Rhodes.
Hate Metro Spirit.
Hate Austin Rhodes.
Hate Comcast.
Hate Austin Rhodes.
Hate white people. (Except the righteous ones, although there don’t seem to be many).
Hate Austin Rhodes.
Hate Austin Rhodes.
Hate Austin Rhodes.

I listened to WAAW 94.7 and Ryan B for just a few minutes.
Couldn’t take more than that. It made me feel really, really, dirty.

There may have been some subtle nuances, some code words, or some esoteric meanings in the emotional rhetoric I didn’t understand, but it sounded like hate to me.
And by the way, did I mention that they hate Austin Rhodes?
Not quite my brand of Christianity.

Booker T. Washington said, “I shall never permit myself to stoop so low as to hate any man.”

Really, Augusta is better.

Here is something else Booker T. Washington said almost 100 years ago. Jesse, Al, Cynthia, Harry take note:
In 1911, Booker T. Washington seemed to address some of those who spoke at a funeral when he said, "There is [a] class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy, and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. . . . There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."

You forgot the almost hourly rantings about how they need to know how to deal with the enemy, and they insinuate that the white man is the enemy. If Ryan whatever his real name is and Walker would devote more time and energy chastising the young males of their race who take care of all their problems with a gun, we would be better off. I am shocked at the people who call him and support him. He is a thief, con-artist (how many AKA's does he have?), and race baiting bigot. If I were of black ancestry, I would have to call him under the carpet. His generation wastes the opportunities that their ansestors fought and died for. Wasted educational opportunities, out of wedlock babies, broken homes, and out of control black on black crime. The enemy is out there, Ryan, but it's not Mister Charlie. You are the enemy of your people, keeping the stench stirred and playing the race card. No, Ryan, I don't believe God is in your corner. Empowering and arming your people with knowledge is one thing, but race-baiting is quite another.

I'm moved to respond to the ignorant people in the south. I hear what you are saying, but you fail to address the truth. Fact: You state that education is some kind of ticket to wealth, but those not formally educated are promoted without it. (Fire Chief & Radio Talker) A sista (T. Smith) with an education is fired because of some kind of personality conflict. Yea, you have some kinda lame excuse about experience, but it does not pass the smell test. Please remember-the children are watching. How can Augusta speak about improving schools when the hypocrisy is so glaring? Truth hurts.

The road work projects were not going smoothly, and many complaints came in under Theresa Smith. When a white person gets fired they do not claim it is because of color. I am not saying there is never discrimination, but as soon as a black person is fired they scream that first. Is it not possible that a black person does a bad job? Was it not blatently obvious in the case of former Fire Chief Ronnie Few? There are many good hard working citizens of all races, but Ryan B. and Champ Walker are not two of them. They want to take advantage of all races, including their own, to support their own greed.

We are a country in crisis. The educational system in America, not just certain counties in Georgia,is failing. The main reason for this is parents are too busy working to instill values, morals, descency, and responsibility in their children. Instead, they purchase violent video games and allow their children to watch "trash" TV such as programs on MTV and BET. The increase in the black on black crime is simply the youths' way to renact what they see on a daily basis. Ultimately, the parents are accountable. I do not support any form of media that uses racism as a weapon. Racism is wrong. It is a way for one person to try to feel better about himself by degrading another.
