What's your favorite road music?

Posted by Augusta.com Staff on July 27, 2006 - 7:17 PM

There's still enough summer left to load up and head out for one last getaway with family or friends. Which leads us to wonder: When you're making like Clark Griswold on the holiday road, what tunes do you want on your stereo?

Jam bands like Dave MAtthews Band, Widespread Panic, Grateful Dead, or Jethro Tull. Every now and then some rap. Classic rock like Lynard Skynard, Allman Brothers, Kansas, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin.

Classic rock, definitely, with some 80's music thrown in here and there on the highway, but new rock - Nickelback, Linkin Park, Staind, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin while crusing the strip at the beach.

Streetandtrail_girl: I always liked MotherLoveBone's song Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns on the Singles soundtrack (itself a 90s classic.) I hear the singer died of an overdose, in time-honored Seattle fashion, not long after recording that.

Country if I'm alone, 80's rock if I'm with my husband.

ZZ Top, that's it if you drive on the highway listening to anything else, you're probably a going to get pulled over by the rock n roll police

Anything with great lyrics that you can relate to. Jimmy Eat World, Dispatch, Dave Matthews Band, RHCP, there's so many.
