God did not remain silent…
Pope Benedict visited Auschwitz last Sunday, and said:
"In a place like this, words fail; in the end, there can be only a dread silence, a silence which itself is a heartfelt cry to God: Why, Lord, did you remain silent? How could you tolerate all this?"
With all due respect, sir, He did not tolerate it. Did not 405,399 Americans hear His call?
That is how many died in World War II.
Hitler was not “silent†on his plans for war.
The leadership of the free world “tolerated†Hitler.
The Muslim world has not been “silent†on their desire for the extermination of Israel.
Thus far, we have not “tolerated†their atrocities, but we are in danger of once again appeasing evil.
Did not you say, about the war on terror, “"it was right to resist the war and its threats of destruction...It should never be the responsibility of just one nation to make decisions for the world."
Yes, indeed. Germany made “decisions for the world.â€
Iran must not be allowed to make a “decision for the world.â€
Should that happen, many more Jews will be killed. Will you once again blame God?
God has not been “silent†on the folly of appeasing evil. Did not millions of Jews scream its failure, scream a “heartfelt cry to God?†It is us, in denying the current danger, that are silent.
On the day after Memorial Day, how do we forget?
