The Weasel’s Tour de Augusta
The exciting Tour de Georgia returned to Augusta Tuesday, featuring such world-famous cyclists as… er… well, Lance Armstrong was busy this year.
To make the streets safe for the athletes, the forces of evil blocked off a large section of downtown Augusta. The result was a Tour de Augusta for morning commuters.
Someone involved in traffic control had a brilliant idea. “If we send traffic to a different state, there will be less traffic in Augusta!â€
So thousands of motorists were routed from River Watch Parkway to South Carolina, where a mile-long conga line formed in North Augusta.
Those lucky enough to get onto Broad Street in downtown Augusta found most streets blocked by barricades and police cars.
The Weasel found himself crisscrossing the downtown area, driving on Greene Street, across 10th Street, down Ellis Street to 7th Street. A quick right on Broad Street put the Weasel in another line. To avoid the traffic, The Weasel drove down to Olde Town, make a quick U-turn, and eventually cut through a bank parking lot to get closer to work. But the entrance was partially closed by barriers.
As Mrs. Weasel leaned out the car window to ask a police officer if it was OK to cross the road, The Weasel gunned it, squeezing between the barriers.
Nothing stops The Weasel!
