One shining (Masters) moment

Posted by Channing-100Proof on April 10, 2006 - 3:01 PM

The Master's Tournament comes to an end today and I for one am glad. My job keeps me extra busy during this time and while I have nothing against extra work, I have problems with the extra madness this week brings. I am not big on taking medicine, but this time of year I keep a bottle of Aleve in my pocket to help with my Masters Migraines.

Since this is a joyous occasion for me I wanted to celebrate...in song. The most appropriate piece I can think of is One Shining Moment. This song, written by David Barrett, can be heard at the end of the NCAA Tournament and is a considered by many to be the ultimate sports ballad. If you are not familiar with it watch the video on the right to see what I am talking about.

I found the song's lyrics on their official website and tweaked them so that they could apply to the Masters. I hope you all enjoy it.

Golfers arrive
some you don't know
You feel like hiding
But there no place to go
All of this madness
over some game
See people driving crazy
and acting insane
(in) one shining moment this mess will end
one shining moment we'll be free again

Masters updates
all over the TV
heard on radio
seen on computer screens
When will this mess
come to an end
Cuz I can't take anymore
of Hootie and friends
(in) One shining moment we'll all be free
one shining moment relief for you and me

See the golfers leave
the patrons too
Now we can live
like we're supposed to do

Once it's all done,
We can relax
because we weathered
The Masters attack
One shining moment, we were set free
We all survived the Tourney's Tyranny.
(in) One shining moment, we were set free
we all survived the Tourney's Tyranny.

Now it's time to get ready for Masters Week 2007.
