Random Post-Oscar Thoughts
I am an awards show junkie so I actually watched the Oscars on Sunday night. Here are a few of my thoughts on it for the 5 or 6 people in Augusta that actually care about the awards.
Salma Hayek is quite possibly the most gorgeous woman on the planet. I would drink her bath water. If it were medically possible I would have HER children.
I thought John Stewart handled himself well as host. He wasn't too political and he showed that he is ready for prime time.
I hate George Clooney because half the women in America want to sleep with him but I must admit that he is one is the one of the coolest dudes in Hollywood right now. I thought his acceptance speech was great and from the heart.
I love Jessica Alba but she needs to gain some of her weight back. She is about to become a member of the "Need to Eat a Cheeseburger Club" with Lindsay Lohan, Hillary Duff, that Olsen twin and Nicole Richie. When she was on Dark Angel she looked like she could beat any man's behind. She was sexy AND strong. Now I think Dakota Fanning could take her down.
I have got to get out to the movies more often. I did not see any of the movies that were nominated for best picture. As a matter of fact I only heard of about 3 of them.
Whoever made the decision to play music WHILE the winners were speaking needs to be slapped. It was just a disrespectful to them and just took away from there speeches. Admittedly there weren't a lot of memorable acceptance speeches at this event but still it was a bad idea.
Dolly Parton...not bad for a 60-year-old. Examples 1, 2
Oscars = Redemption. Ang Lee won an Academy Award for Best Director for his work on Brokeback Mountain. This is the same man that brought us the movie version of The Incredible Hulk. It’s nice to know that the Academy forgives those that make crappy films.
Was it me or was Three 6 Mafia winning the most exciting part of the night? They were genuinely happy. I guess when you are new to the awards show scene you don't have to worry about holding back your emotions. Good for them.
I wonder how many people downloaded "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" to their iPods on Monday morning?
On an unrelated note:
It is too late for me to have a Black History Month celebration but I would like to invite all single females between the ages of 18 and 35 to my house for a Woman's History Month pajama party. That way I can learn about your culture and have fun doing it. RSVP your name and measurements to channing100proof@gmail.com
