Trying to Get in Shape?

If you’ve wanted to join a gym or fitness club, but you haven’t had the cash, the Family YMCA in North Augusta wants to help you get in shape.

Here’s the tip of the day:

The Family YMCA in North Augusta is waiving its joiner’s fee for new members this weekend, on Aug. 23 and 24.

The special discount is in honor of the Family YMCA organization’s 150th Anniversary. The joiner’s fee usually costs from $75 to $100, according to Family YMCA employees. Members will pay only a monthly membership fee to use the workout facilities.

On Saturday, residents can participate in anniversary day activities, including live entertainment, refreshments, children’s games and activities, fitness and aerobic demos, door prizes and a tour of YMCA facilities. The festivities will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
