Parents, It's Time to Get Out Your Wallets

Posted by LaTina Emerson on July 25, 2008 - 11:09 AM

Ah, the joys of sending your kids back to school. Shopping for school supplies, school clothes and new shoes - extra money out of your wallet.

Starting the new school year can be expensive, unless you set a budget and make an effort to search for bargains. I went mock school shopping last night to help you find the best sales. Here’s what I came up with:

Kmart:

Elmer’s Glue, 4 oz. - Sale price: 5 for $1
Themebooks, one subject notebooks, 70 pages (limit 30) - Sale price: 9 cents
(Sale ends Saturday)

Office Depot:

Translucent 2-pocket Poly Portfolio (limit 10) - Sale Price: 1 cent
Office Depot Value Notebook Filler Paper (limit 5) - Sale Price: 15 cents each
(Sale ends Saturday)

Target:

2-pack Elmer’s glue sticks, wood ruler, 2-count pink erasers, 1-hole pencil sharpener - Sale Price: 20 cents each
(Sale ends Saturday)

Wal-Mart:

Rose Art Crayons, 24-count – Sale price: 17 cents
Twin-pocket Paper Portfolio – Sale price: 15 cents
*70-sheet notebook – Sale price: 5 cents (this item was sold out last night, but maybe they have restocked today)
(Sale ends Saturday)

**If you know where to find some great bargains on back-to-school items in the Augusta area, please write in to tell your fellow shoppers.
