One boy, so many facets
Dear boy,
The tub this evening? I'm glad you have good aim, but it'd be nice if it didn't involve using that super-sized syringe from the trip to the e.r. and shooting bathwater out of the bathroom, across the hall and into the nursery. The puddles! They made me want to cry. (Just a little.) But your aim -- it's so incredible! I'm proud of you. Keep the water in the tub.

Dear boy,
I'm glad you like to read! It makes me so proud. Maybe next time, though, you can have a better attitude when you find out that it's going to be another day before we can make it to the library. I am one mama with five boys. We'll get to the library soon! Be at peace! (and be nice about it.)
Love, Mom
Dear boy,
Your pants! Your uniform pants! I went to put them in the washer and wow did you have a good time on the playground today. That hole -- it's incredible! How do you do it? You are a fast boy! And you love to have fun! So much fun... be kind to your knees. You only get one set for free. The rest you have to pay for.
Love, Mom
Dear boy,
It was a long night, wasn't it? And I know I seemed a bit frustrated. But when I walked into the front room, and saw you playing with your baby brother, I got some perspective. And boy did I need it. Sweet boy, you arranged a whole army of guys for baby Henry to look at. But he was just as happy to look up at you, to see you smiling back at him. You are wonderful! Maybe Henry will turn out to be just like his big brothers. May we be that blessed!
I love you. Mom
