Terrorist Chicks in Texas?

Posted by Harriette on January 30, 2006 - 10:40 AM

"ATTENTION ALL TEXANS, WE HAVE YOUR CHICK SURROUNDED!"

Forrest Gump said it best, "Stupid is as stupid does."

Question: Are we still "We, the People"?

Will You Be Eating Chicken From China?

Posted by Harriette on January 28, 2006 - 4:19 PM

Reclaim America.

In a January 27th report by Lou Dobbs of CNN:
"And the U.S. Agriculture Department now wants to import poultry that's been processed in China. That's despite the fact that thousands of Chinese birds have died from bird flu. Critics say this plan would raise safety concerns. "

Here's the link to the transcript - it's about 1/2 way down and in "this evening's headlines":

Reclaim America - No NAIS

Posted by Harriette on January 28, 2006 - 10:04 AM

No N.A.I.S.

The USDA is attempting to strip American citizens of their freedom from government tyranny. It's that simple. For more information on NAIS (National Animal Identification System), go to http://www.NoNAIS.org and read for yourself.

It doesn't just impact farmers (both large and small), it also impact horse owners. If you or your child owns a horse, every time you want to go riding, you will have to notify the government first.

What If?

Posted by Harriette on January 27, 2006 - 2:23 PM

What if you are an American citizen?

What if you are just any American citizen wanting to live independently and responsibly raising and growing food for your family?

What if you own, say, a flock of 12 chickens?

What if the government mandated you report to them about your chickens?

What if you had to tell them:

Your name, your address, your Global Positioning System Coordinate as well as the latitude and longitude for your address?

While opposites attract, The Weasel believes people who have something in common make the best unions. As a public service to Hollywood couples, The Weasel will now play matchmaker to the stars.

Advanced citizenship

There has been a big push by a lot of people for this country to “get back to its roots” and/or be the “Christian nation it was founded to be”. To me, anyone who calls for this needs to go retake some history classes.

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

Posted by Harriette on January 23, 2006 - 6:31 PM

Why did the chicken cross the road?

So its owner would have to file a report to the government and tell them why.

Under the USDA’s proposed mandatory NAIS program any American owning an animal other than a cat or a dog would have to that very thing.

What’s NAIS, you ask?

Eminent Domain

Posted by Harriette on January 21, 2006 - 1:02 PM

Think emiment domain isn't for real? Check out this article at ABC.com and think again.

How would you react if the government decided that your land and your home would better serve "the community" as something other than your home and then they sought to seize it?

Another reason I don't go to church

Posted by Channing-100Proof on January 16, 2006 - 11:32 PM

Well now I have another log to put on the "Why I don't go to church fire", the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights. This group decided to take on Comedy Central after the network aired an episode of South Park that made fun of a church icon.

Last night my youngest daughter started crying,

Aren't We Proud?

Posted by Harriette on January 15, 2006 - 7:21 PM

Aren't we proud of this "well intentioned" school project?

Y'all will be relieved to know that the teacher will unlikely suffer from any disciplinary action.

Is it any wonder that ABC's 20/20 felt led to air its show this past Friday night, "Stupid in America"?

The final kicks of 2005

Posted by Channing-100Proof on January 11, 2006 - 12:50 AM

Before we get too deep into the new I think that we should look back at 2005 and see who else needs a Kick in the Throat. Maybe then they will do better in 2006.

The Weasel reviews King Kong, the movie

Posted by The_Weasel on January 06, 2006 - 7:07 PM

This latest remake follows the general outline of the 1933 classic: ape meets girl, ape loses girl, ape falls off really tall building.

The movie starts in New York City, well actually New Zealand, but it sure looks like New York thanks to special effects and a new coat of paint. The main characters are rounded up to make a movie on a distant island. Perhaps Manhattan or Staten Island would have been more cost effective.

PARENTS

Posted by hbk459 on January 03, 2006 - 6:50 AM

One thing we all have in common is we all have parents, they might not live with us but we all got them.
The other day my 6 year old PARIS walked up to me and said thank you,she appreciated me taking care of her for the last 3 days because she was sick.I was touched,i cryed after she left the room, and after a while i thought she did something i never did, that was tell my dad thank you and tell him how much i appreciated him. That really bothers me,i promised myself after he passed that i would tell my mom,i did,i know she heard me and everyone because as me and my oldest girl HILLERY told her everything we wanted her to know a tear fell down her face, even though she was really out of it she knew, iam very greatfull i had that chance.A lot of people dont though,so take it from someone who learned the hard way tell your parents thank you, tell them you appreciate them because 1 day they wont be here

When i was a youngster i had the priveladge of going to Fleming
on hwy 25,now its a different school, but the times i have had a chance to visit and i rode past there it always put a smile on my face. The good times, the bad times, the crush i had on my 4th grade teacher MRS CISICK,who i thought was so beautifull, well she was,to the teachers who did not like me,MRS SWEETENBURG,she respected me but did not like me,that taught me something that i still use to this day,you can dislike someone but respect them.
