The Weasel’s guide to “Intelligent Design”

Posted by The_Weasel on December 30, 2005 - 11:13 AM

A federal judge recently banned a Pennsylvania school district from teaching “intelligent design” in biology class, saying it is creationism in disguise.

Is “intelligent design” creationism? Of course not!

Creationism says that God created Man.

Intelligent design says only a higher force (a.k.a. God) can create complex living organisms.

As you can see, they are completely different.

Posted by hbk459 on December 29, 2005 - 1:26 PM

When i lived in augusta off of hwy 25,by ivey rd,i had a few weeks of something till this day i cant explain, dont want to really, but i do want to share it.It all started when my girlfreind at the time moved in ,i was not happy after a awhile, but she stayed,i started having these really bad dreams
so bad that i got her to stay up,so when they started she could wake me up,she actually saw me being dragged off the bed one night,i woke up i was almost on the floor.NO KIDDING!We would be watching tv in the bedroom,2 red eyes would appear on the wall, start going around the room, spinning, faster and faster, she would be screaming i would be crawling on the floor trying to turn the light on.The tv would start changing channells,it wouldnt even be on sometimes,it would just come on,the sound would go up and up,even after i unplugged it.It got so bad that i actually was going to get a preist to come and bless the room.

REMEMBERING

Posted by hbk459 on December 22, 2005 - 12:48 PM

Its strange how a person can hear a song or see a picture and the mind goes back to years before, to that very moment.
The smell you smelt when you heard that song with someone,
or where you took a picture. The other day i was cleaning out my closet and i found a bunch of old tapes,of course i stuck them in my tape player and listened. All these memories started pouring back, smells, everything.Mostly i thought of my first true love, the girl i first kissed,i sat there and wondered where she was, what she is doing, whatever she is doing iam sure she is very successfull, she was very smart.I always thought our paths would cross and a part of me thought what if,what if we got married, how things would have turned out.I hope she is happy,

Your favorite entertainers…need a kick in the throat

Posted by Channing-100Proof on December 22, 2005 - 11:48 AM

Like most of America I love celebrities. I don't exactly know why, I just do. Maybe it's envy, maybe it's respect but some reason I like hearing about who is dating who and who is starring in what film. I am one of the main reasons that the E! Network exists. And, as much as I hate to admit it, I love when entertainers do things that deserve a kick in the throat. It reminds us all that they are only human.

Choices

Posted by hbk459 on December 21, 2005 - 6:55 AM

Everyone has choices, some are hard choices some are easy choices,
i want to tell about a choice a freind of mine made.
For about 17 years this freind we will call him HB lived with severe pain everyday.Pain so great that he would have to get in the closet and cover his head because everything made it worse.
He has a compressed fracture in his back, once his back started hurting it would go up his neck then to his head.He could barely turn his head, drs gave him vioxx, bextra, before they got pulled off the market, nothing worked,he finally went to a dr that explained to him that arthritis has done set in and its going to get worse. The dr gave him percoet 10,he thought it would not work but after about an hour he could move, his pain was all but gone, needless to say he was very happy. He finally could get down on the floor and play with his kids, just have a normal life.

Negative Reads for a Wednesday

If you go looking, you'll find it - about as much negative as you can stand for a Wednesday:

First, among my many favorite news making headlines, start here.

Then, try here or even here.

It's time to attack Canada

Posted by The_Weasel on December 13, 2005 - 4:03 PM

Using the same evidence used to make a “case against Iraq,“ The Weasel will now make a case that a clear and present danger to the U.S. lurks right across our border - the evil empire of Canada.

Stop killing my Christmas/Holiday Buzz

Posted by Channing-100Proof on December 13, 2005 - 2:18 AM

I am a Christmas nut and I am not ashamed to admit it. Every year I break out the tree, hang the lights outside and even bring my holiday candy dishes to work. Keep in mind that my family members are over 1,000 miles away from here so all of this holiday decorating and cheer is for solely for my enjoyment. The holidays have a calming effect on me; they actually make me a little less bitter. I guess you could call it my 'Holiday High'. Now two groups are trying to ruin my high and I am not happy about it.

Buzzword for 2006: "Hybrid"

Posted by Harriette on December 10, 2005 - 12:50 PM

With all the recent oil hype and gas prices roller coastering, we've been inundated with the latest trend of "hybrid" vehicles throughout the media world.

Just when you think you've heard it all...

I was watching the Saturday morning edition of NBC's Today Show this morning. It was the usual mix of Christmas and Holiday "how to do it all", when my ears perked up upon hearing the anchor mention something about the latest trend in this year's pet giving: "Hybrid Dogs". Seems Puggles is taking the world wide web as well as holiday and Christmas gift giving by storm.
