Halloween costume suggestions

Posted by The_Weasel on October 28, 2005 - 10:52 AM

The Weasel wants to know “What exactly is a Halloween costume?” Something sexy? Perhaps. Something scary? Definitely, but not always. If serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer wore a blood-stained shirt and carried a knife to a party, everyone would say “Jeff, great costume.” That’s not a costume. That’s what he wore every day!

Price gouging at its finest

Maybe we should think twice before accusing the gas stations of price gouging.

Sex, lies and high school

Posted by Channing-100Proof on October 25, 2005 - 11:31 AM

It all started when two students/football players were charged with rape and aggravated child molestation. Later on, more teens, including the young ladies that were originally listed as victims, were charged with fornication. All told, the charges range from rape to contributing to the delinquency of minors but they all have on thing in common, they are overkill.

The Woods Will be Wigglin' this Weekend!

Posted by Harriette on October 21, 2005 - 11:35 AM

It's deer season ~ full blown ~ this weekend. Though it officially began with bow season as an appetizer on September 10th, the main course known all too well as gun season kicks off at sun-up Saturday morning.

With four-wheelers in tow, new artillery and the lastest deer tracking gadgets galore, the woods will be full of camouflage and flaming orange fashion statements between now and New Year's Day!

Racism and roaches, they ain't going nowhere.

Apparently white supremacists marched through a black neighborhood and all hell broke loose. The really jacked up part of all this is that it would not have happened if people would just realize that racism is here to stay.

Giving credit where credit is due

A dude named after the alter-ego of the The Incredible Hulk, the person that was talked about for swiping a credit card through a woman's behind, the fella that dates Beyonce and a guy that has changed his name more times that I can count all responded to the Hurricane Katrina better than President Bush, Michael Brown, and various state and local agencies.

Inform Yourselves about the Avian Flu

Posted by Harriette on October 11, 2005 - 12:07 PM

Rather than zip around the Internet reading all the speculative journalism and "what if's", I decided to go straight to the source of what I deem the most reliable resource on the current concern regarding the Avian Flu: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In addition to a wealth of information on everything from the Bird Flu to general personal hygiene and its importance for good health can be found there.

They're Still Not Telling Us.......

Chris O'Donnell is thinking about the possible pandemic, too.

But once you read all the articles, they still aren't telling us everything.

At least the New York Times is willing to tell us what we already know ~ especially after watching the fall-out in New Orleans in the Katrina aftermath.

Reading Between the Lines

Yesterday's news was spinning all over the latest about scientists recreating a flu virus that mirrors the pandemic "outbreak of the Spanish flu virus in 1912 that killed millions" according to this news source.

Then in another article from this morning, it appears that President Bush is pressing "vaccine" manufacturers to get on with producing a vaccine to combat the bird flu that all the major news people are discussing and causing panic about. I won't go into my personal opinion about the companies arguing about "profitability".....or rather the lack of....as their reason for dragging their feet.....isn't that, um, kind of unethical?
