Hypocrisy

Posted by imdstuf on October 26, 2006 - 2:51 PM

Politicians, and in large part lately the Republican party politicians, are full of hypocrisy. Most follow the phrase, "Do as I say, not as I do." Mark Foley is one example, but what I am readling thinking about is Mr. Rush Limbaugh. His questioning Michael J. Fox was one thing, but with cameras rolling on him in his studio he floundered around making fun of Mr. Fox's battle with Parkinson's Disease. Way to go Rush. You sure have room to talk...oh no, wait you do not. You are a pill popping junkie. One of the many things you and your followers used to slam. Us who are wiser though know you are just a tool for the GOP (Grand Old Perverts). Why you are still on the air baffles me, but hey, I do not particularly see why people watch MTV's Jack** either, yet they do.

People want to listen to Rush because he's going to give you his non-sugar coated conservative opinion, just like people listen to Howard Stern because he's going to give you his "shock valued" liberal personal opinion. People that have radio shows like that, whether for political or entertainment value, are just extremely opinionated people who will say what they think because they're not politicians that have to "walk on eggshells" when they speak their ideas and opinions. People watch Jackass because of some subconscious primal urge to watch people self destruct. Your GOP acronym is ridiculous. It's not like the left wing hasn't had their own share of sexual scandals. Clinton was president when he was shacking up with Monica, but that was ok. Some republican hooks up with his page and that's not. Ted Kennedy drives his car off of a bridge leaving a prostitute to drown and that was ok. Almost every politician is do what I say not what I do. Rush is human like the rest of us and has his vices. No reason to hate on his pill popping when most of the people in Washington are alcoholics.

So, you want to talk about hypocrisy? Great!!! Who was the person who said they voted for George W. Bush twice then later said that Ralph Nader was his man? Who is it that said that he is not a Democrat but regurgitates liberal Democratic propaganda every chance he gets plus spends most of his time bashing Republicans on these blogs? Would anyone like to tell me who?

Second thing, where was Rush seen floundering around making fun of Michael J. Fox? Did you see it? Did anyone see it? It seems to me that if Rush was filmed doing this that it would be all over the Internet and television news? I looked and didn’t find it. I did see Michael J. Fox's commercial. It is puzzling to me. Fox tried for so many years to hide it but now here he is making commercials asking people to make a vote based on one issue. It was terrible to see him in that condition. Who wouldn’t want to see a cure?

I mentioned that I didn’t find the Rush video but I did hear him today and heard him say several things. Rush did say that he had never seen Michael like this in public before. Some people emailed him, because of the next statement lets assume that someone he knew very well and trusted was one of the emailers, and said that they had seen Michael like this on television recently. Rush recanted his position and apologized. What Rush was against was the politicizing of Michael’s condition for political gain with which I agree.

There were a few things Rush said that I didn’t like for example, “Michael was either acting or he was off his meds.” That is a little over the top but isn’t any worse than things you have said about George Bush.

So, if Rush didn’t make a video making fun of Michael J. Fox, where is the hypocrisy in that?

And again, where is this video, I would like to see it?

Full of hypocrisy? My goodness, no. Please, no. Not politicians.
Please don’t reveal that to the world. Some people can’t take it.
But, Mr. Limbaugh didn’t “make fun” of Michael J. Fox’s battle with Parkinson’s.
He merely questioned whether the actor had taken his medication, or was indeed acting.
Mr. Fox has admitted to, in an effort to dramatize his message, not taking his medication before certain events.
I won’t accuse you of being hypocritical, but you probably knew that.
As for not seeing why people like certain talk shows, perhaps you could use some diversity training. The Limbaugh Institute has some wonderful on-line tolerance and diversity courses available. Perhaps you could attend one.

Stem cell research is being privately funded. The researchers have web sites.
You can donate to these private research institutes. (Just google).
Michael J. Fox knows that.
Why don’t you?

Gdog, the video was on the news, but maybe not Fox news, because their "fair and balanced" selfs won't show it. Yes, weekapaug05, as I did say at the start, most of the politicians are hypocritcal. You are right, Rush is not a politician, but since he is a public figure he is fair game, as people defending him same Michael J. Fox is. The GOP line was a joke. Both parties are guilty of the same things, but the holier than though on virtious issues just makes it more ironic when news of Republicans getting caught in sex scandals.

Gdog, the things the Republican party touted back in the 1990s are not the same issues today. Plus I have grown and learned that even then they were not the great party I thought they were. Maybe it seems silly that I would have said I liked Ralph Nader, but atleast he is not some corporate tool like the candidates from the major parties. As for democratic rhetoric? Just because I voice opinions against republicans does not make me a democrat. Again, that is why I brought up Nader previously. I do think the democrats is the lessser of two evils right now though if I had a choice of just the two major parties. Most people in the country agree. So you all on this site can laugh and high five each other, but you all are the ones in the bubble. Maybe you should get out of it for a change.

imdstuf, Thanks for the link, funny one of the places I searched for the video was on youtube and last night it wasn’t there. So, where is everyone getting the idea that Rush was making fun of Michael? If you have ever watched Rush at any length you will see that he is always animated. Even in the video he uses exaggerated hand gestures while talking. What Rush does is question what is taking place, which is what he does to make a living. All news type reporters, commentators, and radio talk people, Republican and Democrat question things they hear and see. Why should Rush be expected to do anything different?

Since all this has happened we’ve learned a few more things; 1. Michael admits he didn’t take his medicine for the ad. 2. Stemmed Cell research is already legal in Missouri. (Though you wouldn’t know that by the ad.) 3. The bill being voted for is not about Stemmed Cell Research but about cloning.

So what is the real hypocrisy in this story and blog? 1. The off base attack that Rush is making fun of Michael. 2. That the story is about how Republicans are. 3. That this story is about Stemmed Cell Research rather than Cloning. 4. That the Democrats would use Michael J. Fox in this manner. They used him to lie about what the bill is about. 5. That you imdstuf would use this to attack Republicans.

imdstuf, as usual you make assumptions without knowing all the facts or what you are talking about. I never said I watched Fox news. So, your assumption is that because I am a conservative, the evidence being these blogs and my conservative approach and position in them, I watch Fox News.

Yes you did say that almost all politicians are hypocritical. Most all people would agree with that statement. But the evidence is that you only pick on Republicans. Simple acknowledgement that most politicians are hypocritical is nothing more than a CYA approach. The real proof and evidence is in everything else you say. The other evidence is when someone presents cohesive evidence after you attack to prove that you are wrong and you disappear for a few days to show up later on another blog saying essentially the same pile of manure you have been saying for months.

You’re not a Democrat? There is an old saying, If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and talks like a duck then it must be a duck. Now the obvious is that I can’t see you or see you walk, but your talk????? Quack, Quack, Quack!!!! I’ve seen absolutely nothing conservative in your blogs.

Democrats are the lesser of two evils? Let’s see. Ted Kennedy, boozer, murderer, and stinking rich (not that I am against that). He used his family’s money to keep from being charged with murder and going to prison. For the sake of time and the length of this reply I won’t go any further except to list a few names and we all already know what they did. John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Joe Bidden, on and on and on. All rich telling the poor that we will protect you from the corrupt rich if you will vote for us.

I was just reading an interesting story. Thought I'd share it.

"In 1946 Joseph Russo, a popular Boston city councilman, decided to run for a seat in the U.S. COngress. At first his only opponent in the Democratic primary was a young WWII veteran name John Fitzgerald Kennedy. But at the last minute, another cannidate appeared on thwe ballot: a second Joseph Russo."

" Who was this new challenger? Turn out he was a family friend of the Kennedys. It's widely believed that JFK's father got Russo #2 into the race to confuse voters and ensure his son's victory."

"It worked. Joseph Russo split the Russo vote; JFK won the primary by a landslide."

My, my, my, my, my, how you can't trust those rich, dishonest, theiving Republicans.

There isn't any media bias at all, is ther indstuf. Why isn't the story about how the canidate decieved many including Michael J. Fox saying the bill is about Stemmed Cell Research when the bill really is about Cloaning? That is the real hypocrisy.

G_dog:
ther = there, canidate = candidate, decieved = deceived, Stemmed Cell = Stem Cel, Cloaning = Cloning.
Wow, all that in a four line post! English may still be a foreign language to me, but even I picked that up.

Hi! Imdstuf you perverted little puke. And that's being nice to you as per the wife's request. She said if I didn't play nice she would take away my computer. So you think you can play with the big boys on this hypocrisy theory do you. You are always saying that the Republicans are full of scandalis people. Have you ever checked out all the scandals that the DNP
(Do Nothing Potheads)have been involved in. Let me enlighten you my little hypocrite. By the way my information comes from the 6 pages of the web: http://www.boycottliberalism.com/Scandals.htm. So here goes, WJ Clinton you are familiar with as well as EM Kennedy. Barney Frank from Mass from 1981-present, admitted to having paid SL Gobie, a male prostitute, for sex and subsequently hiring Gobie as his personal aid. Your party was fined $719,000 in fines against participants in the 1996 Democratic Party funraising scandal involving contributions from China, Korea and other foreign resources. Talk about sleeping with the enemy. James McGreevy admitted to having a gay affair. Jesse Jackson, admitted to an extramarital affair with a illegitimate child. Gary Condit had an affair with an intern and lied to police when she went missing. Talk about getting away with murder. The son of newly elected Gwen Moore was booked and charged with slashing tires on 20 vans and cars rented by the Republican Party used to drive voters to the polls. MJ Reynolds, 1993-1995, Convicted of sexual misconduct and obstruction of justice charges and sentenced to five years. Fredrick Richmond, 1975-1982, arrested in Washington DC in 1978 for soliciting sex from a minor and from an undercover police officer. Neil Goldschmidt, admitted to having an illegal sexual relationship with a 14 year old while mayor of Portland. David Giles, convicted in June 2000 of child rape. And the list goes on from racketeering, to weapons charges, to bribes, to child molestation. I think we could make fun of your party as child molestors. One guy was even convicted of hiring a hit man to kill his business partner. Before you rag on the Republican Party, and I'm sure we are guilty of the same thinges, you should check out your own dirty laundry. Talk about hypocrites. Have a glass of milk and some Oreo's and watch "ON GOLDEN POND".

It's the "funny season" again, now in full swing between opposing politicians. Using other people's money they swipe, often viciously, at each other for that coveted seat of power. That's what it's all about, power (and influence). It's also about race (Ronnie Few's remark). And it's about omissions such as the ad about Max Burns wanting to raise taxes 23%, conveniently omitting the fact that all other taxes would be erased. I will only vote for candidates that do not insult my reasonable intelligence.
I believe that the best candidates for office will not run for office because they have no intentions to wallow in that trough. So, we are stuck with a much less quality of candidates that want the job often for reasons we may never know. Certainly not the pay, I said pay, I did not say the money.
Of course I will vote on Nov.7 but only for candidates I know something about. Voting straight party-line is ridiculous as is voting for people you've never heard of or don't know what they do or have not done. By all means Vote, but vote with knowledge.

Ok, first off, FrozenOne, http://www.boycottliberalism.com/Scandals.htm. sounds like a real reliable source...not. I will say though, I do believe alot of the stuff just because, as I said before, on either side, most of these politicians are never as good as they sell themselves to be. Go to http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/3/8/123054/5928 and read about Jeff Gannon. He wrote for www.gopusa.com, but at the same time was operating a gay website and posting nude pictures of himself. " From the article above:

"Cable television news reports have recently linked an alleged male prostitute to the present White House since George W. Bush permitted James Guckert to use an unprecedented Secret Service-approved alias (Jeff Gannon) while having access to the White House for two years as a pool reporter serving the younger Bush--before which Gannon had advertised himself on internet pornography sites as a male "escort" charging $200 an hour. [Gannon is the subject of independent news reports which have referred to him as the former kidnapped Des Moines, Iowa paperboy Johnny Gosch--forced into child sex-slavery.] John DeCamp told this writer "I believe Johnny Gosch and Jeff Gannon are one and the same person--but I am not in a position to know positively." "

"George W. Bush has not explained how Guckert/Gannon--who had advertised himself as a male escort--could apparently operate in the White House as a reporter for two years using a Secret Service-approved alias and regularly be called upon by George W. Bush and press secretary Scott McClellan during nationally televised presidential press conferences." - http://www.thelawparty.org/FranklinCoverup/franklin.htm Yes, I am sure democrats do such things to, but this story was just too funny not to point out.

Gdog, right now, as I said, I see the democrats overall the lesser of two evils, mainly because of the administration and top republicans in congress. Had you talked to me back in 1994 I would have talking down the democrats as I was wanting the republicans to sweep into congress, which they did. Newt Gingrich even admits today's congress is nothing like the one he was part of though. Do I think the democrats will be great if back in some power? No. Do I think they will not "stay the course" in a go no where effort in Iraq as we did in Vietnam though? No. Do I think they will work to get back our good ties with all of the nations Bush has lost? Yes. Sometimes it just helps to make changes. As for media bias, I will start another blog or two showing stories left out by most of the national media.

your blogs showing stories left out from the national media came from the Coo-Coo farm. They are too wild even for the liberal media. Quack, Quack, Quack.
